Richard A. Burgett, M.D., FACS

Dr. Burgett enjoys a vibrant practice joining patient care and medical education. With a primary focus on patient care, he also serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology of Indiana University.

Dr. Burgett has maintained a strong emphasis on teaching by being a clinical instructor for the Indiana University Department of Ophthalmology. In this capacity, he instructs ophthalmology residents, transitional interns, and upper level medical students. Additionally he has written articles and book chapters on a variety of topics relevant to ophthalmic plastic surgery. He held long tenures directing the annual Orbital Anatomy Course at Methodist Research Institute and the Methodist Multidisciplinary Trauma Committee. Dr. Burgett is a native of Indianapolis. In his spare time he enjoys family, bicycling, travel, barbecue, Notre Dame Football, and Duke basketball.
